A woman and child were buried under snow due to an avalanche in Dagestan

An avalanche occurred in one of the mountain villages of Dagestan, and according to preliminary data, a woman and a child may be trapped under the debris.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Russian media, the incident occurred in the settlement of Shaitli in the Tsuntinsky district. The press service of the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported the incident.

According to the agency, the emergency signal was received promptly. It is believed that two people — a woman and a child — were buried under the mass of snow. Rescue units of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were immediately dispatched to the scene and began a search and rescue operation.

At the same time, rescuers are working in difficult weather conditions — due to unfavorable conditions, it is currently impossible to deploy aviation. Specialists continue to clarify the circumstances of the incident and information about possible victims.
