As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the tremors occurred on Friday, November 21, at 10:38 local time (08:38 Baku time) and reached a magnitude of 5.5, which is considered a significant seismological event.

The epicenter was located 23 kilometers southeast of the city of Tongi, which has a population of about 337 thousand people. The earthquake's focus was at a depth of 10 kilometers. Information about casualties and destruction has not yet been received.
