A mine accident occurred in China: the death toll has reached 90
At least 90 people have been killed in an explosion at a coal mine in Shanxi province in northern China.

The explosion occurred on the evening of May 22 at the Liushenyu mine in Qinyuan county. At the time of the explosion, 247 miners were underground. Authorities initially reported that eight people had been killed and that most of the miners had been safely evacuated to the surface.
Chinese President Xi Jinping demanded that "all necessary measures be taken to search for and rescue the missing and provide assistance to the injured," Xinhua news agency reported. He also ordered an investigation into the causes of the accident and punishment for those responsible.

According to the agency, the incident occurred on May 22 at approximately 7:29 PM local time (3:29 PM Baku time) at the Liushenyu mine of Tongzhou Group in Qinyuan county (Changzhi city district). Earlier, reports indicated more than 50 deaths.
Chinese President Xi Jinping issued instructions to make every effort to rescue and treat the injured, as well as to take decisive measures to prevent similar major accidents in the future. Corresponding instructions regarding the tragedy were also issued by Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang.
