SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has warned of the risk of humanity's extinction, drawing attention to the demographic situation in Singapore.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Financial Times, Singapore's authorities have announced payments to families of more than $55,000 per child amid a record decline in birth rates.

"Humanity is disappearing," Musk wrote on the social network X, commenting on the information about new family support measures in Singapore.

To maintain a stable population, the fertility rate must be around 2.1 children per woman. However, in Singapore, this figure is significantly lower.

According to the publication, in 2026 Singapore may transition into the category of "super-aged" societies. In that case, the share of the population over 65 will exceed 21%.

Declining birth rates and an aging population are becoming a serious demographic problem for many developed countries, as they can lead to a reduction in the working-age population and increased pressure on social systems.
