A major fire broke out at a gas distribution station in the industrial zone of Kizilyurt in Dagestan.
As reported by Russian media, this was announced by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Dagestan.
"Three explosions occurred on a main gas pipeline in Dagestan. This was followed by a major fire," the statement said.
Videos on social media show that the fire is visible from many kilometers away.
The incident site has been cordoned off, and the question of evacuating residents of nearby homes is being addressed.
