A curfew has been imposed in Los Angeles amid riots

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced the introduction of an emergency curfew in the central part of the city due to ongoing riots. This decision was announced during an emergency press conference, which was broadcast by CNN.
According to the mayor's statement, the restrictions will take effect from 8:00 PM Tuesday and last until 6:00 AM Wednesday local time. Bass particularly emphasized the local nature of the measures being taken - the curfew will only be in effect in an area of one square mile, which is just a small part of the total area of the metropolis of 502 square miles.
During the interaction with press representatives, the mayor also issued a warning about the possibility of taking more decisive actions if the violence on the city streets does not stop. The authorities are ready for a tough response to restore public order.
