Is tanning beneficial for the body? — doctors' opinion

With the arrival of the summer season, more and more people are striving to get a beautiful bronze tan. However, medical professionals remind us that sunbathing brings not only benefits to the body but can also cause serious harm if approached thoughtlessly.
As reported by BAKU.WS, among the positive effects of tanning is the synthesis of vitamin D, which is necessary for bone health, immune system, and overall well-being. Under the influence of sunlight, mood improves, sleep normalizes, and metabolism activates.
But doctors emphasize: even a short stay under the scorching sun can cause sunburns, photoaging of the skin, and increase the risk of developing skin cancer, including melanoma - one of the most aggressive oncological diseases.
People with fair skin, freckles, a large number of moles, as well as children should be especially careful. Dermatologists advise avoiding sun exposure during its peak activity hours - from 11:00 to 16:00, using sunscreens with high SPF, and wearing hats.
Thus, tanning can be beneficial if precautions are taken. Moderation and protection are key conditions for the sun to bring joy rather than problems.
