How much shashlik can you eat in one sitting?
Endocrinologist and dietitian Anton Polyakov told aif.ru how much shashlik (barbecued meat) one can eat in one sitting without harming their health.
"In one meal, our body can normally digest approximately 100–150 grams of cooked meat. That means if you eat a kilogram of shashlik, nothing will be properly digested. For everything to be properly processed in the stomach, and for all the protein components and amino acids to be absorbed in the intestines, you should aim for 100–150 grams," the specialist explained.
The dietitian noted that exceeding this amount can lead to negative consequences for the body. As a result, shashlik may cause not a pleasant aftertaste, but heaviness, bloating, and discomfort.
Polyakov added that one should not buy pre-marinated meat at the store and that it is better to marinate it yourself.
