Cardiologist explained which diseases cause constantly cold hands and feet
Constantly cold hands and feet may be a sign of serious diseases, such as anemia, heart and lung diseases. This was reported by therapist, cardiologist, candidate of medical sciences Andrey Kondrakhin.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to RT, according to the specialist, women experience cold extremities more often because heat loss exceeds heat production: the male body has more muscle mass, which generates heat.
The doctor also noted that such symptoms are often observed in newborns, who have not yet formed full thermoregulation, as well as in elderly people - due to slowed metabolism and circulatory disorders.
At the same time, cold hands and feet can also indicate pathologies, including anemia, chronic heart failure, lung diseases, and also be a consequence of poisoning or frostbite.
For temporary improvement of the condition, Kondrakhin recommended wearing loose warm clothes and shoes, as well as consuming hot drinks - tea or broth, which, due to the "dynamic effect of food," help distribute heat in the body.
However, the doctor emphasized: if the cause of cold extremities is a disease, it is necessary to first treat the underlying illness.
