Artificial Intelligence Pretended to Be a Real Radio Host for 6 Months

Australian radio station faced criticism after an AI was presented as a live host for six months.
This was reported by the Independent.
CADA radio station, broadcasting in Sydney and through the iHeartRadio app, secretly created a host named Tee using artificial intelligence designed to mimic a human voice. Tee hosted a program called "Weekdays" for four hours each day from Monday to Friday. The station's official website and promotional materials did not indicate that Tee was not a real person.
"If your day seems a bit boring, let Tee and CADA give you the energy and atmosphere to lift your mood," says the program page, which also features a photo of the host.
Tee's true nature was revealed after a Sydney writer named Stephanie Coombs doubted that the host actually existed. She noted Tee's lack of a surname and biography, as well as the fact that certain words were pronounced with identical intonation across different episodes.
The CEO of ARN media holding, which includes CADA radio station, Fayad Tome, admitted that artificial intelligence was used to create Tee's voice.
"No microphone, no studio - just code and atmosphere," he wrote on social media.
