McAfee cybersecurity specialists have identified a serious threat to Android device users. 25 popular applications were found to be infected with dangerous malware called Xamalicious, aimed at stealing confidential data.

Although Google has already removed the compromised applications from the official Play Store, experts warn that they are still available on third-party platforms. The malware's ability to obtain elevated access rights is particularly dangerous, allowing it to secretly exchange data with remote servers without user awareness.

Among the infected applications are:

- Essential Horoscope for Android

- 3D Skin Editor for PE Minecraft

- Logo Maker Pro

- Auto Click Repeater

- Simple Calorie Counter

and other popular utilities.
