A young boxer from Yaroslavl was taken to intensive care with chemical burns to the larynx, esophagus, and stomach.

As reported by BAkU.WS, this was announced by the Mash publication.

According to medics, the severe condition was caused by a pack of spicy chips that the athlete ate while performing a popular internet challenge.

22-year-old Vladislav became ill a day after consuming the chips: he experienced throat pain and neck swelling. Two days later, the young man's vision darkened and he began having serious breathing problems, after which he went to the emergency room himself.

Doctors identified extensive chemical burns in the athlete, and tests showed a dangerous complication - hemolysis, the destruction of red blood cells. It was caused by the high concentration of capsaicin acid in the chips.

After a course of IV drips and injections, the boxer's condition improved.
