Aykhan Abbasov: We will fight against France until the end

The head coach of the Azerbaijan national team, Aykhan Abbasov, expressed confidence that the team will demonstrate a worthy performance in the upcoming match against France in the 2026 World Cup qualification. The specialist announced this at a pre-match press conference, reports BAKU.WS with reference to Report.

Abbasov noted that the composition of the national team may undergo changes:

"We are playing our last home match. The French national team is the group leader. The away game was difficult for us. But in the first meeting, our team performed well against this opponent for 70 minutes. There may be changes in the lineup. I believe that the players will fight well," said the coach.

The head coach also said that preparation is complicated by injuries to several players:

"Injuries to left defenders have put us in a difficult position. But young players Rufat Abbasov and Khayal Aliyev showed themselves well when they got a chance in previous matches. Changes are possible - we will make the final decision in the evening."

The match Azerbaijan vs France will take place on November 16 at the Tofik Bakhramov Republican Stadium. Start time is 21:00.
