Who in Azerbaijan may have their retirement age reduced?

In Azerbaijan, a proportional reduction in the retirement age for women depending on the number of children may be implemented.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Xezerxeber.az, this was stated by deputy Vugar Bayramov.

In his opinion, mothers who have raised three children should be given the opportunity for early retirement.

The deputy noted that such a practice exists in a number of foreign countries, and if it is applied in Azerbaijan, it can contribute to strengthening the social well-being of mothers with many children. He emphasized that this step is important both in terms of ensuring social justice and supporting the institution of the family.

Currently, the retirement age in the country is 65 years for men and 64 years for women. Starting next year, the retirement age for women will also reach 65 years. In this context, the deputy stated that it is time to consider benefits for mothers in the pension system.
