The judicial investigation has been completed in the criminal case of Nurida Seidova, Aynur Bayramova, and Aysel Mamedova, accused of misappropriating funds collected for children with thalassemia - a severe hereditary blood disease.

As Oxu.Az reports, at the trial in the Baku Court for Serious Crimes, presided over by Judge Azad Mejidov, the state prosecutor delivered the accusatory speech and demanded that Nurida Seidova be sentenced to 9 years and 6 months, Aynur Bayramova to 9 years, and Aysel Mamedova to 8 years of imprisonment.

Recall that a criminal case was initiated based on information received by law enforcement agencies about fraud against parents of patients with thalassemia, other seriously ill patients, and their relatives. It was established that Nurida Seidova, in conspiracy with Aysel Mamedova and Aynur Bayramova, abused the trust of 36 people and misappropriated 980,000 manats.

Nurida Seidova was arrested first. Then, at court hearings, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen for Aynur Bayramova and Aysel Mamedova. They were charged under Article 178.3.2 (fraud causing large-scale damage) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
