Terrible accident in Baku: driver ran a red light and hit a pedestrian

At the intersection of Azadlyg Avenue and Mirasadulla Mirgasimov Street in the Nasimi district of Baku, a traffic accident occurred involving a pedestrian being hit.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a car that ran a red light at high speed collided with another moving vehicle and hit one of two pedestrians who were following the rules and crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing:

"The second pedestrian managed to avoid being hit at the last moment."

The Intelligent Transport Management Center has repeatedly brought to the attention of road users video materials of accidents demonstrating how dangerous it is to ignore a prohibiting traffic light signal. Despite the explanatory and educational work carried out in this direction, unfortunately, some drivers show irresponsibility and, for the sake of gaining a few seconds, endanger the lives of other people.

We once again draw the attention of drivers that stopping at a red traffic light is not only a legal requirement but also a human responsibility. Such violations of the rules lead to the death of pedestrians and other drivers or result in injuries to them.
