Named the new oldest inhabitant of the planet

After the death of 116-year-old Brazilian nun Ina Canabarro Lucas, the world title of the oldest person officially passed to 115-year-old British woman Ethel Caterham.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Associated Press.
Ethel was born on August 21, 1909, in the village of Shipton Bellinger in southern England. She was one of eight children in the family. At the age of 18, she went to India - then still a British colony - where she worked as a nanny for three years.
In 1931, Ethel married a British army major. She lived with her husband in Hong Kong and Gibraltar, accompanying him on his service, and later returned to the United Kingdom. The couple had two daughters.
Currently, Ethel Caterham is 115 years and 257 days old.
For comparison, the absolute record for longevity - 122 years and 164 days - belongs to Frenchwoman Jeanne Calment, although some researchers suspect that after her death, her daughter used this name. Among confirmed long-livers, Japanese woman Kane Tanaka, who lived 119 years and 107 days, is considered the oldest.
