Doctor warned about the risks of magnetic storms for people with chronic diseases

Therapist of Krasnogorsk Hospital Anastasia Lozikova in an interview with News.ru spoke about the potential threat that magnetic storms can pose to people with cardiovascular and neurological pathologies.

According to the specialist, during periods of geomagnetic disturbances, people from vulnerable groups may experience exacerbation of health problems. Possible symptoms include headaches, blood pressure fluctuations, sleep disturbances, deterioration of memory and concentration, increased fatigue, feeling of "cotton legs," drowsiness or, conversely, insomnia.

Patients with hypertension, hypotension, arrhythmias, migraines, and chronic headaches have the most difficulty enduring magnetic storms. According to Lozikova, elderly people and pregnant women are especially sensitive to changes in the magnetic background.

The doctor recommended that people in the risk group carefully monitor forecasts of magnetic activity, avoid overload, rest more, limit coffee and alcohol consumption, drink enough water, and spend more time outdoors - preferably in the shade. She also advised reducing time spent with gadgets, especially in the evening.

The peak of geomagnetic disturbances is expected on April 24, and stabilization of the magnetic environment is forecast by April 29.

Lozikova emphasized that during this period, it is important to regularly monitor blood pressure and, if necessary, adjust therapy after consulting with a doctor.
