Former official dies in Azerbaijan

Substitute member of the Central Election Commission Suraddin Gumbatov has died at the age of 68.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, he had been suffering from cancer for a long time.

Note that S.Gumbatov graduated from the Faculty of History at Moscow State University. For many years, he worked as a department head in the State Committee on Diaspora Affairs. In 2017, he was awarded the "Tereggi" medal for his contributions to the development of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
