The Golden Globe Award Winners Announced

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles, where the best films, series, and acting performances of the year were announced. "Hamnet" became the main dramatic film, while Paul Thomas Anderson's "Battle by Battle" won in the musical and comedy category.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to BBC, the ceremony was hosted by comedian Nikki Glazer, who had previously hosted the event in 2025. The film "Hamnet" directed by Chloé Zhao, based on Maggie O'Farrell's novel and telling a fictional story of William Shakespeare's son, also brought victory to Jessie Buckley, who played Agnes Shakespeare and was recognized as the best actress in a dramatic film.

"Battle by Battle" was named the best film in the musical or comedy genre. The film's director Paul Thomas Anderson also received awards for best direction and screenplay. Brazilian actor Wagner Moura ("Secret Agent") became the best actor in a dramatic film. In comedy roles, Timothy Chalamet ("Marty the Magnificent") and Rose Byrne ("I Would Kick You If I Could") won.

Among TV series, "Pitt Hospital" was recognized as the best dramatic project, while the Apple TV+ series "Film Studio" won in the comedy and musical category. The Netflix animation "K-Pop Demon Hunters" became the best animated film, and the Brazilian political thriller "Secret Agent" received the award for the best foreign film.

Special awards for contribution to the industry were presented in advance: Sarah Jessica Parker received the Carol Burnett Award for achievements in television, and Helen Mirren was awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her contribution to cinema. According to experts, victories at the Golden Globes traditionally strengthen the laureates' positions ahead of Oscar nominations.
