Azerbaijani singer to face trial on charges of multiple crimes

A trial is beginning in Azerbaijan in the case of the arrested singer Deniz Asadova. The investigation at the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the General Prosecutor has been completed, and the materials have been sent to the Baku Court for Serious Crimes.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the trial in the case will be scheduled in the coming days.

According to the case materials, Deniz Asadova has been charged with new accusations under several articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan: 32.4.308.2 - incitement to abuse of official powers; 32.4.313 - incitement to official forgery; 32.311.3.3 - incitement to receive repeated bribes in large amounts; 32.312.3.3 - incitement to give bribes; 320 - forgery of official documents, state awards, seals and stamps, their illegal production, sale or use of forged documents.

Previously, Asadova was convicted in fraud cases, as well as on private charges for slander and insult. By the decision of the Binagadi District Court, she received 7 months of imprisonment, but later the sentence was increased due to repeated violations.
