Zakir Hasanov arrived on an official visit to Serbia
Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
This was reported by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense.
First, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the monuments to the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and the outstanding Serbian writer Milorad Pavić in Belgrade's Tašmajdan Park, as well as the memorial complex dedicated to Milica Rakić, and laid wreaths at them.
Then, in accordance with the visit program, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia Bratislav Gašić.
During the official welcoming ceremony organized in accordance with protocol, the defense ministers of the two countries reviewed the honor guard. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Serbia were played.
During the meeting, the sides conducted a thorough exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the military, military-technical, and military-educational fields, and discussed issues of regional security and a number of other topics of mutual interest.
It should be noted that as part of the visit, the defense minister's participation in the "Distinguished Visitor Day" at the Platinum Wolf - 2026 international tactical exercises being held near the city of Bujanovac is planned.
