# Yerevan Does Not Abandon Treachery: Military Dynamics Amid the Peace Process
In the new edition of the "Military Chronicle" section on Baku TV, the military-political situation in the region and steps taken in the field of arms supplies were analyzed against the backdrop of the first meeting of the "Peace Council" in Washington.
It is noted that despite the attention the US leadership pays to the peace process, military preparations continue in the region in parallel with diplomatic initiatives.
It is emphasized that Armenia, while making peace statements at international platforms, has intensified the rearmament process in recent years, is developing its own military industry and is focusing on the production of offensive-type systems. As an example, the development of the Dragonfly-3 strike unmanned aerial vehicle, created on the basis of the Israeli Harop drone, is cited.
It is reported that against the backdrop of military dynamics in the region, Azerbaijan also continues modernization of its Armed Forces. Increasing the defense budget, conducting structural reforms and procuring modern weapons systems are key directions of this strategy.
According to the latest information, after acquiring Pakistani-made JF-17 C (Block III) fighters, Azerbaijan is also considering the possibility of purchasing Swedish Saab JAS-39 Gripen aircraft. Although there is no official confirmation of this data yet, a potential deal would significantly enhance the combat capability of the country's Air Force.
