The U.S. State Department strongly condemned the drone strikes carried out by Iran against Azerbaijan on March 5.
This was stated in a press release issued by the State Department.
It was noted that the Iranian regime's attack targeted Nakhchivan International Airport and a secondary school. As a result, civilians were injured and civilian infrastructure was damaged.
The statement emphasized that these strikes constitute a clear violation of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and an unjustified escalation of Iranian aggression.
The American side declared that attacks on its partners in the region are unacceptable and noted that it stands with Azerbaijan. The United States emphasized that it will firmly support its partners in the face of such threats.
