The Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the Iranian drone attack on Nakhchivan
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the attack of Iranian drones on civilian infrastructure in Nakhchivan.
BAKU.WS was informed about this by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.
It is noted that from the territory of Iran, an attack was carried out on civilian infrastructure facilities of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic using two remotely controlled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with explosive warheads.
During the preliminary investigative actions, it was established that one of the drones fell on the terminal building of the Nakhchivan International Airport, and the second one near a school in the village of Shekerebad in the Babek district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
As a result of the incident, significant damage was caused to the building of the Nakhchivan International Airport, and its operations were disrupted. Also, due to deliberate unlawful interference with the activities of airport services, a civilian airliner operating flight number 264 on the Nakhchivan-Baku route, while in the air, was forced to return to Baku for safety reasons.
