We once again call on the Armenian side to comply with its obligations under international human rights and humanitarian law, as well as to provide accurate information about mines massively placed on the territory of Azerbaijan during the occupation period.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this position is reflected in the publication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on the social network X.

The publication notes that the resolution adopted today on the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action paves the way for taking the global fight against mines to a historically new level through the recognition and restoration of the violated rights of millions of mine victims around the world.

Azerbaijan, as a country affected by mines as a result of the 30-year occupation of its territories by Armenia, will continue to make efforts at the national and international levels to ensure compliance with international human rights and humanitarian law obligations regarding the rights of mine victims.

"We also emphasize the importance of the resolution's call to states on the need for effective cooperation to address the impact of mines on the protection and promotion of all human rights, including through accelerated demining.

This call, as well as the fulfillment of humanitarian law obligations, requires states, especially in post-conflict situations, to provide accurate information for mapping minefields, which is essential for the protection of the civilian population.

In this regard, we once again call on the Armenian side to comply with its obligations under international human rights and humanitarian law, as well as to provide accurate information about mines massively placed on the territory of Azerbaijan during the occupation period".
