President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Orthodox Christians on Easter

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the Orthodox Christian community of Azerbaijan.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:

"Dear compatriots!

I cordially congratulate you and the entire Christian community of Azerbaijan on the sacred holiday of Easter, and convey my wishes of happiness and well-being to all of you.

In Azerbaijan, rich in traditions of tolerance, there have never been cases of discrimination based on religion and faith throughout history, and ethnocultural diversity has been preserved to this day. The promotion and encouragement in our society of a culture of coexistence based on mutual respect and trust, progressive social and moral values is one of the main directions of state policy.

Today, the Christian community holds a special place in our society, where an atmosphere of national-spiritual solidarity and exemplary tolerance prevails. I am pleased to note that our citizens of Christian faith are worthily represented in the socio-political and cultural life of the country, making a significant contribution to the development and progress of our native home - Azerbaijan.
