# The Force Factor: Azerbaijan's Defense Strategy After "Iron Fist"
In the new episode of the program "Military Chronicle" (Hərbi xronika) on Baku TV, an analysis was provided on why Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its defense capability after the Karabakh war, as well as new military and geopolitical risks facing the country.
The report notes that the ceasefire signed after the first Karabakh war did not resolve the conflict. However, the 44-day Patriotic War and the full restoration of sovereignty over the entire territory of Azerbaijan in September 2023 put an end to the occupation and separatism.
The statements of President Ilham Aliyev at the IV Shusha Global Media Forum demonstrate that Azerbaijan, even after its victory, considers strengthening security and defense capability as priority number one. The experience of the last 30 years has proven that international promises cannot replace an army, and therefore the state must possess real power to ensure its own security.
