Strategic Course of Azerbaijan in Davos
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been actively participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos for many years, representing our country at the center of global political and economic discussions.
The head of state's participation in this event clearly demonstrates Azerbaijan's growing role in ensuring international energy security, shaping the transport and logistics map of the region, as well as in the global economic agenda.
President Ilham Aliyev first participated in the Davos Forum as head of state in January 2007. The event was held under the motto "Shifting the Global Balance of Power." During the forum, he delivered a speech about the increasing importance of oil geopolitics, emphasizing that Azerbaijan was becoming one of the key participants in global energy projects.
In 2008, Ilham Aliyev again participated in the forum in Davos. Speaking at the main session dedicated to the role of solar energy in the energy sector, the President of Azerbaijan focused on climate change issues, the need to reduce carbon emissions, and the importance of international cooperation in the field of alternative energy.
