Special Representative: 28 thousand people already live in Khankendi
As of today, 28 thousand people already live and work in Khankendi.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, Agderin and Khojaly districts, Elchin Yusubov, shared this information with members of the diplomatic corps during their visit to the Cultural Center in the city of Khankendi.
He noted that the process of return of former internally displaced persons to Khankendi is actively continuing.
"Currently, more than 3 thousand students are studying at Karabakh University in Khankendi. This constitutes more than 10% of the total population living in the city," Yusubov said.
According to him, new residential buildings and parks are being constructed in the city, and roads meeting modern standards are being built.
"At the same time, the process of demolishing awkward structures that do not match the city's appearance and modern urban planning standards has accelerated. Along with this, design work has begun on the construction of modern buildings that meet new requirements," he added.
