Sahiba Gafarova: Digital transformation has become a key element of modern governance
Digital transformation is no longer merely a technological process. It has become a key element of modern governance, sustainable development, and the delivery of effective public services.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, this was stated by the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova during her address at the high-level dialogue of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on the topic "Parliamentarians' Dialogue on Digital Governance."
She emphasized that the topic of digital governance is gaining increasing importance for the international community.
"Digital governance has become one of the main pillars of modern parliamentary institutions. By utilizing digital technologies, parliaments are able to enhance transparency, increase the efficiency of legislative activities, strengthen public participation, and promote inclusive dialogue among all stakeholders. Digital transformation simultaneously creates new opportunities for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, expanding the exchange of knowledge and best practices beyond national borders," the Speaker noted.
"Digital technologies must serve as an important tool for supporting democratic governance, strengthening public trust in state institutions, and fostering the development of an open, transparent, and citizen-responsive parliamentary dialogue. Joint efforts to strengthen international cooperation and build capacity will serve as one of the key guarantees that digital governance will contribute to sustainable development, the strengthening of democratic resilience, and the formation of effective parliamentary institutions," Sahiba Gafarova emphasized.
