# Russia vents anger on its own peoples due to failures in the war - STATEMENT

"The Russian-Ukrainian war began and somehow cannot end. Is it really so difficult to stop this barbarism? Before the eyes of the whole world, an entire state and people are being destroyed, while Russia continues to demonstrate its imperial arrogance and claims to 'eternal victory'. In fact, we don't see anything that could shake the world, except for the ideology itself, which is weakening, becoming unstable, and practically devouring itself."
This was stated to BAKU.WS by Shabnam Hasanova, Doctor of Philosophy in Political Sciences, political scientist.
The expert added that Russia, as if enraged by its failures, has now unleashed its anger on the peoples living on its territory:

"And in the most cruel and merciless form. In a form that didn't exist even during Stalin's time. Back then, there were camps for this purpose, but now they simply break in wherever they want. If in the 1990s OMON still wore masks, now they don't even 'bother' with that."
"The peoples of Central Asia, Azerbaijanis are used when they are needed, and when they are not needed - they are beaten, insulted, tortured. The country's leadership is at the head of an extremely inhumane, Islamophobic, discriminatory policy against Azerbaijanis, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Uzbeks, and representatives of other nationalities. This policy is not new; it's simply an accelerated version of the usual practice.
Are we surprised? That would be naive. If such a cruel policy is carried out against the Ukrainian people, who have the same language, religion, roots, and blood, if the goal is to erase Ukraine from the map, if genocides like Bucha are committed, if civilian infrastructure is destroyed without hesitation, then the question of what to expect regarding other peoples is purely rhetorical. After the collapse of the USSR, we are at the peak of chauvinistic and Islamophobic policy. We see that the same handwriting is being used that once 'broke' the Chechens."
Shabnam Hasanova added that the specter of skinheads, who were once directly led by Russian special services, has been released again:
"If you look more closely, we'll see that now even these skinheads are not needed. In a situation where Russian law enforcement agencies surpass them in cruelty. All this is actually a blow to the foundations of the state and people themselves. The Russian Orthodox Church, being at the center, acts as a catalyst, argues for ideological provocations, and justifies the cruelty of the mentioned agencies.
The tragedy of January 20, the Khojaly genocide, Russia's support for the occupation of our lands, the human drama resulting from the downed plane, the denial of entry to our deputy into Russia, the transformation of Azerbaijan into a target in the media space, the insult of Azerbaijanis - all these facts show that Russia has gone beyond all boundaries."
