President Ilham Aliyev named the basic principles of his policy

Speaking at the III Shusha Global Media Forum, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev named the basic principles of his policy: always telling the truth to his people, being objective and honest, adhering to the principles of international law in any situation.

As reported by AZERTAJ, the head of state also emphasized the importance of using geography to protect oneself from risks. "As for Azerbaijan, there are no internal sources of risks in our country. All potential risks can form beyond our borders. Therefore, it was also important to protect oneself from surprises, from some risks not related to your activities, and geography played an important role in this case," said President Ilham Aliyev.

He also noted that an important factor of successful policy is that Azerbaijan is one of the few countries that is a member of both European and Muslim organizations, actively participates in summit formats through the European Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the ECO and many others.

"Another important thing for everyone: when considering your interests, you need to look at the interests of your neighbor. Protection of national interests is a fundamental factor of Azerbaijan's policy, but in isolation from the regional or global context, this factor cannot be greatly abused. You always need to look at the situation, try to look at the situation from the prism of your neighbor. Then much becomes clear, then much that could lead to some misunderstanding is regulated quite effectively," added the head of state.
