Pashinyan: Only the closure of the Karabakh issue made peace with Azerbaijan possible

Only the closure of the Karabakh issue made the achieved peace with Azerbaijan possible.
As reported by Armenian media, this was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in his address to the people.
According to him, some forces simply used the Karabakh issue as a tool to solve their own problems in Armenia.
"The people, like me, understood that without closing the Karabakh issue, peace is impossible. The Karabakh issue was simply used by some forces as a tool to prevent the establishment of our independence, sovereignty, statehood, as well as development," Pashinyan noted.
He also touched upon the issue of Armenians who voluntarily left Karabakh after Azerbaijan's final restoration of its sovereignty.
"Regarding our compatriots, I have repeatedly stated publicly: I do not consider the idea of their return realistic. In general, this is a topic that only harms the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Any attempts to raise it again will not benefit the displaced persons themselves, and will only create tension between the states. Therefore, I state: yes, this is a dangerous and harmful topic for the new chance for peace," said Pashinyan.
The head of government emphasized that all those who disagree with this line, consciously or unconsciously, find themselves in the camp of forces interested in new conflicts.
