Overchuk thanked Azerbaijan for its help in evacuating Russian citizens from Iran
Russia expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for assistance in evacuating its citizens from Iran.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission Alexei Overchuk at a meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
During the meeting, the Russian side expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan for the prompt assistance in evacuating Russian citizens from the Islamic Republic of Iran amid the complex and tense situation in the region.
It should be noted that as of 10:00 on March 2, 39 Russian citizens had been evacuated from Iran through Azerbaijan's border checkpoint.
