New collective agreement: how will the document affect salaries in Azerbaijan?
A General Collective Agreement has been concluded between the Cabinet of Ministers, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs' (Employers') Organizations.
The document, based on international agreements concluded by Azerbaijan or to which it has acceded, defines agreed positions and joint actions in the area of socio-economic and labor relations for 2026-2028. What is the significance of this document?
Economist Eldeniz Amirov commented on this issue for Baku TV as follows:
"This document represents the formation of institutional trust between the state, employees, and employers in the labor market. From the employer's perspective, it creates a more predictable labor environment for entrepreneurs. For employees, it contributes to strengthening social guarantees."
The document highlights the importance of taking measures to increase the salaries of employees working in sectors funded from the state budget, in particular, raising the monthly tariff rates of employees whose wages are paid according to the Unified Tariff Scale.
