MFA: Israel's decision regarding the "Armenian genocide" causes serious concern
The decision of the Israeli government regarding the so-called "Armenian genocide" raises serious concern.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan.
"Distorting the historical truth about the events of 1915 and turning complex historical processes into a subject of political decisions without proper legal and scientific basis is unacceptable.
Such steps do not contribute to reconciliation and mutual understanding, but on the contrary, lead to the deepening of existing contradictions and hinder efforts to achieve lasting peace and reconciliation in the region.
We urge the government of Israel to reconsider the decision that has been made.
Azerbaijan will continue to consistently uphold historical truth, the principles of international law, and contribute to strengthening sustainable peace in the region," the statement says.
