Leyla Aliyeva participated in environmental actions in Mingachevir
Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva participated in a series of environmental activities during her visit to Mingachevir.
As reported by BAKU.WS, first, with Leyla Aliyeva's participation, 25 thousand carp fry were released into the Mingachevir reservoir.
This action is aimed at restoring aquatic bioresources, increasing fish stocks, and maintaining the ecological balance of water bodies.
Then Leyla Aliyeva participated in the reintroduction process in the territory of the Korchay State Nature Reserve. 10 gazelles brought from the territory of Shirvan National Park were released into the reserve. The purpose of relocating the gazelles is to increase the genetic stability of the existing population, prevent various diseases, and form a healthy generation of gazelles in this territory. Currently, the number of gazelles in the Korchay State Nature Reserve is 810 individuals.
As part of the visit program, a tree planting event was also organized in the city of Mingachevir. During the event, with Leyla Aliyeva's participation, 100 volunteers planted 200 seedlings of Eldar pine and cypress. Eldar pine and cypress, as drought-resistant tree species suitable for the soil and climatic conditions of the region, are important for environmental protection and expansion of the green zone.
It should be noted that these environmental activities are an integral part of the work regularly carried out by the IDEA Public Union for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation in Azerbaijan.
