Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called Ilham Aliyev

On August 10, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the President of Kazakhstan congratulated the head of our state and the people of Azerbaijan on the agreements reached in the United States of America on the agenda for normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Noting the historical significance of these results, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed hope that they would create opportunities for comprehensive cooperation in the region.

Thanking for the congratulations, the head of our state emphasized the importance of the declaration and other documents signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the United States of America, witnessed by US President Donald Trump, in terms of ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region. He noted the role of the President of the United States of America Donald Trump, who provided support in this matter.

President Ilham Aliyev also stated that the agreement reached on unhindered transport communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan region will have a positive impact on the cargo handling capacity of the Middle Corridor in the future.

The head of our state thanked Kazakhstan for providing a platform in May last year for negotiations between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia as part of the peace talks and for contributing to this process.

During the telephone conversation, views were exchanged on the prospects for relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
