Ships and personnel of the Naval Forces of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran entered the territorial waters of Azerbaijan and arrived at the meeting point to participate in the joint search and rescue exercise AZIREX - 2025, which will be held in Azerbaijan.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

A solemn ceremony was held to welcome the ships. The event was attended by the command of the Azerbaijani Navy and other officials.

This was followed by a meeting between the Commander of the Azerbaijani Navy and the delegation of the Naval Forces of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The meeting discussed issues of expanding bilateral cooperation and organizing the joint search and rescue exercise AZIREX-2025.

As part of the event, a briefing dedicated to the exercises was presented, and answers were provided to questions of interest.

The main purpose of the joint exercises is to ensure security in the Caspian Sea, strengthen interaction and coordinate actions during search and rescue operations.
