Ilham Aliyev: We are increasing our hydropower potential through our own investments

It can be said that Azerbaijan's role in energy security partnership will only grow.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev at the 11th ministerial meeting within the framework of the Advisory Council on the Southern Gas Corridor and the 3rd ministerial meeting within the framework of the Advisory Council on Green Energy.

The head of state also reported on contracts signed with investors and emphasized: "These are contracts related to solar and wind power plants, which will provide 6 GW of electricity by 2030. I note that as a result, it will be possible to save a huge volume of natural gas, which is currently used for domestic needs and will be directed for export. At the same time, we are increasing our hydroelectric potential through our own investments, especially in the East Zangezur and Karabakh regions liberated from Armenian occupation."
