Ilham Aliyev invited Masoud Pezeshkian to Azerbaijan

On June 26, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the head of our state once again expressed our country's position regarding the conflict between Iran and Israel and Azerbaijan's concern about the escalation of the situation in the region.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed condolences over the deaths of Iranian citizens during recent events and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.

The head of state congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on the cessation of the Iran-Israeli confrontation and the achievement of a ceasefire, once again noting that peace and tranquility in the region are an important condition.

Masoud Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for the condolences.

During the telephone conversation, the heads of state exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral relations, recalled with satisfaction Masoud Pezeshkian's successful visit to Azerbaijan, and emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts aimed at implementing the agreements reached as a result of the visit.

President Ilham Aliyev again invited Masoud Pezeshkian to the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which will be held in Azerbaijan in early July.
