Ilham Aliyev expressed condolences to Recep Tayyip Erdogan

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of condolences to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

As reported by AZERTAG, the message states:

"Dear Mr. President,

My dear Brother,

With deep respect and reverence, I honor the bright memory of our sisters and brothers who died as a result of the devastating earthquake that occurred two years ago in Turkey, may Almighty Allah rest their souls, I wish patience to their relatives and loved ones.

Azerbaijan shares the grief of brotherly Turkey in connection with this terrible tragedy and mourns together with it. Azerbaijan in those difficult days, as always, stood by Turkey, mobilized as one from the first minutes after receiving news of the earthquake at all levels alongside brotherly Turkey, did everything possible to provide help and support. In those difficult days, the heart of the entire Azerbaijani people beat in unison with Turkey.

Today, the strong and powerful Turkish state under Your leadership is implementing large-scale creative work to eliminate the consequences of the disaster, revive life and economy in the affected region, provide people with new homes and jobs. It is a great honor and pride for us that Azerbaijan, shoulder to shoulder with Turkey, as part of its duty of brotherhood and loyalty, contributes to reconstruction and restoration work in Kahramanmaras province.

Our countries and peoples, who, based on the principle of "one nation, two states," support each other in both joyful and sad days, prove their brotherhood and solidarity by providing mutual support in difficult moments. It has been so and will always be so.

I am confident that by the will of our peoples, connected by inseparable bonds, our unity and strategic alliance, which have stood the test of time, will live forever, and we will continue to make joint efforts to achieve our goals for the well-being, peace and tranquility in our countries.

On this memorable day, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I once again express with deep sorrow my condolences to You, the families and loved ones of the deceased, and the brotherly people of Turkey."
