Ilham Aliyev congratulated Vladimir Putin

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

As reported by AZERTAC, the message reads:

"Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich,

On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate you and, through you, all Russians on the national holiday — Russia Day.

Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation are based on the traditions of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual respect that have connected our peoples for centuries. I note with satisfaction the active advancement of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as the expansion of interregional and cultural-humanitarian ties.

I am confident that our joint efforts will continue to promote the development and strengthening of Azerbaijani-Russian relations and multifaceted cooperation in line with our strategic partnership and alliance for the benefit of our friendly peoples and countries.

On this memorable day, I wish you, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, good health and success, and all citizens of Russia — well-being and prosperity."
