Ilham Aliyev congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAC, the message states:

"Dear Mr. President,

Dear Brother,

On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I cordially congratulate you and through you the entire people of Turkey on the national holiday of the brotherly Republic of Turkey - Republic Day, and express my warmest and best wishes.

Thanks to your far-sighted and decisive policy, today Turkey is conquering new heights in all spheres, achieving great success, and is recognized as a strong and powerful state whose word carries weight in international matters. Turkey's active and principled position in processes occurring at the global level and in the region, its efforts to establish peace and stability have earned it great authority and trust in the world. We are pleased and proud of every success of the brotherly country.

The high level of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, stemming from the unwavering will of our peoples and based on the principle of "One nation, two states," evokes a sense of great pride. The daily deepening of our interstate relations, which with the signing of the Shusha Declaration has reached the level of strategic alliance and is acquiring new content, is a vivid expression of our firm political will and consistent joint efforts.

Today, the brotherhood, unity, and alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which have no analogues in the world, are also an important factor serving peace, security, prosperity, and cooperation in the region.

With the most pleasant impressions, I recall your visit to Gabala in early October to participate in the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States. I would especially like to note your persistent activity on the path to the unity of the Turkic world and the growing authority of the OTS in the international arena.

I am confident that in accordance with the will of our peoples, we will continue to successfully pursue joint efforts aimed at further expanding and deepening our fraternal relations and fruitful cooperation, built on a solid foundation and having stood the test of time.
