Expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and D-8 discussed

As part of the III Shusha Global Media Forum, a meeting was held between the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev and the Director General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation of Eight Developing Countries (D-8), Ambassador Mustafa Ozcan.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this information was posted on the organization's page on the social network X.
It is emphasized that the meeting discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the D-8 organization.
In addition, Ambassador Ozcan held a meeting with the Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan, Ahmed Ismayilov, to discuss potential opportunities for cooperation in the field of media and communications.
Note that the D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization unites eight Muslim states. It was founded on the initiative of Turkey on October 22, 1996, in Istanbul at the Conference on Cooperation for Development with the participation of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, and Pakistan. The official establishment of the organization took place on June 15, 1997, at the summit of heads of state and government of these eight countries in Istanbul. The organization's secretariat is located in the same city.
