Erdogan welcomed the ceasefire reached between the US and Iran
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed satisfaction with the temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
As reported by BAKU.WS, he wrote about this on his account on the social network "X".
"We welcome the ceasefire announced last night in the conflict that has turned our region into a war zone since February 28. We expect the ceasefire regime to be fully observed, without room for provocations and sabotage. We sincerely congratulate all parties who contributed to reaching the agreement, above all the friendly and brotherly Pakistan," the Turkish leader stated.
Erdoğan expressed hope that the region would achieve peace, calm, and stability in the shortest possible time.
As a reminder, on February 28, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran. As a result, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a number of high-ranking officials were killed. Following this, Iran struck a number of targets, including facilities associated with the United States and its allies, on the territories of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Cyprus. On April 8, Iran, the United States, and their allies reached a two-week ceasefire agreement.
