Defense Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey Met in Baku

On May 13, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, met with the delegation headed by the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, Yaşar Güler, who is on an official visit to our country.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, during the visit, the Turkish delegation visited the graves of national leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva at the Alley of Honor, as well as the Alley of Martyrs and the Memorial in honor of Turkish liberator soldiers, where wreaths and flowers were laid and their bright memory was honored.

The Minister of National Defense of Turkey, arriving at Victory Park, laid a wreath at the monument in honor of the victory.

At the official meeting ceremony organized at the Ministry of Defense, after passing in front of the guard of honor, the national anthems of both countries were performed, and in accordance with the protocol, a commemorative note was left in the "Book of Honorary Guests".

At the meeting held at the Ministry of Defense, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan welcomed his colleague and expressed satisfaction with seeing him in our country. Colonel General Z. Hasanov positively assessed the current state and development of cooperation in the field of defense and security within the framework of the Azerbaijani-Turkish strategic partnership.

Expressing satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan, Y. Güler thanked for the sincere reception and hospitality shown. The guest noted the importance of mutual visits and such meetings for strengthening bilateral military cooperation.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on cooperation in military, military-technical fields, in the field of military education, as well as on other issues.
