Ali Asadov discussed cooperation in the customs sphere with Ian Saunders
Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Ian Saunders on July 13.
As reported by the Cabinet of Ministers, the parties expressed satisfaction with the development of long-term cooperation between our country and the WCO.
During the meeting, reforms in Azerbaijan's customs system, the implementation of international standards, projects on facilitating international trade, modernizing customs procedures, and ensuring the sustainability of global supply chains were discussed.
The parties also considered issues of developing customs cooperation within the framework of regional and international transport corridors, including the Middle Corridor, and strengthening the country's transit potential. In addition, prospects for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the WCO were discussed.
Chairman of the State Customs Committee Shahin Bagirov also participated in the meeting.
