A population census will be held in Azerbaijan in 2029

A population census will be conducted in Azerbaijan in 2029.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the corresponding decree was signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

The census will help obtain detailed population data across the entire territory of Azerbaijan and assess the socio-demographic situation in the country.

According to the decree, the data will be collected as of October 1, 2029, and the census itself will last for one month — from October 1 to October 31.

The preparation and conduct of the census, processing of the final data, as well as the publication and dissemination of the results have been entrusted to the State Statistical Committee.

The Cabinet of Ministers is required to approve the census action plan within two months. The government has also been tasked with taking measures to integrate into the State Statistical Committee's database the necessary information contained in the information resources and systems of the relevant government agencies. This information will be used to obtain data from administrative sources.
